The Centre for Display Research (CDR) at HKUST is established with seed funding from the Hong Kong Government Industry Department
to provide Technical Support Services for local liquid crystal diaplay (LCD) manufacturers,
to perform Research in advanced displays that will be of value to the local industry and
to train students with hands-on experience in LCD manufacturing for the local industry.
